What Tenon Tests
Tenon exists to provide reliable and accurate automated accessibility testing coverage for a wide array of accessibility best practices. Some accessibility best practices are either too subjective or too complex to be accurately tested with automated means. Doing so increases the risk of so-called "false positives", which can reduce the usefulness of a testing tool.
The below tables show which WCAG Success Criterion are tested by Tenon and how many tests are provided for each. It is important to understand that no accessibility testing tool can provide complete coverage, even at the single Success Criterion level. Automated testing is not a replacement for manual testing, use case testing, or usability testing. Instead, automated testing is an important component of a robust accessibility and quality program and should be viewed as such.
There are a large number of tests we plan on adding as time goes on. We regard tests as a "living" part of the system and tend to add/ improve/ remove tests as necessary to ensure a high degree of accuracy and reliability of our tests
